Where To Start

You can begin by scheduling a 15- minute Introductory Consultation to speak with me about your health concerns and to see if working with me will be a good fit.

If you decide to proceed, you can then schedule an Initial Assessment and Consultation.  During this 75-minute session, I will discuss with you your main health concerns, current diet, and lifestyle to create an initial protocol.  I may recommend a meal plan such as the 28-Day Refresh (low-calorie and low-glycemic index), Anti-Inflammatory, Low- FODMAP, or Plant-Based Plan based on your needs and goals.  I also may suggest supplements that I think may be helpful.

If you want to dig deeper, you can then do a micronutrient deficiency test, a nutrigenetic test, or a food sensitivity test so that I can give you even more personalized diet advice.

The micronutrient deficiency test will identify vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that you may be lacking in adequate amounts for optimal health. Correcting these deficiencies will enable your body to work more efficiently.

The nutrigenetic test will show how your genes are affecting your nutrient needs (either increasing or decreasing your need) and will point to food choices (or restrictions) that will promote better health and help prevent disease.

The food sensitivity test will show which foods and food chemicals your body is reacting to, creating inflammation. Eliminating or reducing your intake of these foods can help ease a wide range of symptoms.

I highly recommend patients start with this package. This package includes the test kit (shipped directly to you), a one-hour Results Review consultation to review your results and go over recommendations, and a 30-minute follow-up phone consultation. I use the Metabolomix+ test by Genova Diagnostics. This is a urinary nutritional evaluation that identifies nutritional deficiencies (such as B-vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and amino acids) that may be at the root cause of complex chronic conditions, including chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, and malnutrition.  Correcting these deficiencies can lead to better health and prevent disease.  This test also looks at markers for malabsorption and dysbiosis caused by bacteria and yeast and can identify the need for pancreatic enzyme and probiotic supplementation.   An add-on test for essential fatty acid status is also available.  You can see a Sample Report HERE✎ EditSign. Food and supplement recommendations will be provided at the one-hour consultation. The follow-up phone consultation provides an opportunity for you to discuss any challenges as well as progress you have had with the dietary recommendations and to receive additional advice to support for your health goals.  Additional follow-up appointments can be scheduled as needed.

I use the Nutrigenomix Health and Wellness test by Nutrigenomix. This is a comprehensive genetic test that was developed by world-renowned researchers. It consists of 70 genetic markers that reveal how your genes affect your nutrient needs, food intolerances ( lactose and gluten), cardiometabolic health, weight management, and response to exercise. Your DNA will be analyzed using  saliva from a cheek swab. You can see a Sample Report HERE✎ EditSign.  A skin health test is available as an add-on test for an additional charge.  This test reveals how your genes affect your need for nutrients that impact the health of your skin. During your Results Review consultation, you will receive an explanation of your genetic results, along with personalized dietary recommendations based on your unique genetic profile. The Follow-up session is an opportunity for you to receive additional support and suggestions to help you adhere to the recommendations.  Personalized meal plans, based on your results, can be purchased for an additional cost.

Food Sensitivity Testing
and Diet Counseling:

Food sensitivities are implicated in a wide range of chronic health problems, including irritable bowel syndrome, bloating and gas pain, arthritis, migraine and other headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, skin rashes and eczema, autism/ADD and other lingering health problems. If food sensitivities are causing your symptoms and you don't address them, you could wind up suffering needlessly for years and spending thousands of dollars for treatments that don't really help.

The first thing a food sensitivity sufferer needs to do is to identify their trigger foods and food-chemicals.  I use the MRT ( Mediator Release Test) by Oxford Biomedical Technologies. This tests a patient's blood sample against 140 foods and 30 chemicals. You can see a Sample Report HERE.✎ EditSign This test and food protocol has helped thousands of people improve their health by eliminating foods and chemicals that are causing inflammation in their bodies.
